After returning home following and extended period of living out of state, I came home to see  there was "a need for more" for young people ,in particular young ladies. This inspired me to look holistically at the young women in the community to see how I could enpower and enrich their lives. This project came to me when I reflected on my own experiences and upbringing in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  With the unwavering support of the United Memorial Methodist Church in trusting in my ideas and providing support in numerous ways, PURE, INC became reality.

Throughout my life I have volunteered a large amount with the youth, and  found that young people not only need, but desire for more. In seeing the extenive work my mentor Tiffany Gibson Pitts achieved with Girls STEPS, INC in Lee County Alabama I knew it was possible. This is how the concept was created because inside of every "YOU" there are qualities which are PERFECT no matter what!
